The Tools submenu on the main menu bar
provides the following options:
- Workload - open the daily and the monthly
calendar of repetitions. You can view the number of repetitions scheduled,
number of scheduled topics, number of scheduled items, as well as the record
of past repetitions (displayed as "items+topics"), and past
retention (displayed as "retention
-> back-retention" or only retention
where no back-retention data is available)
- Plan - open a schedule manager that will
help you plan your time by adjusting proportions of time you spend on
individual activities
- Mercy - open a
dialog box that makes it possible to reschedule repetitions (e.g. before or after a
holiday break). Use Mercy only if you want to apportion the
outstanding material in a selected period of time. If you cannot cope with
material overload, use Postpone as your default rescheduling tool
- Tasklist
- open a
tasklist manager to sort or edit the current tasklist
- Reading list - open a
tasklist manager to sort or edit the current reading
lists
- Statistics
- Statistics
-
open a window with the main statistics of the learning process
- Element data
-
open a window with the statistics related to the current element. This window
also displays the repetition statistics after a repetition
- Analysis
- open
a dialog box with various statistics related to the learning process and
SuperMemo Algorithm
- Simulation - open a dialog box that makes
it possible to simulate the course of learning over many years using real data collected
during repetitions (see: Theoretical
aspects of SuperMemo). Please note that for a low value of the
forgetting index, the simulation procedure maybe inaccurate (see: FAQ)
- Report - generate a text file with
statistics displayed in the statistics window
- Plug-In - call statistics procedure defined
by a plug-in algorithm (only if external plug-in has
been installed and if it implements the statistics procedure)
- Randomize - randomize
the pending queue or the final drill
queue
- Random test - run random repetitions on
various subsets of the current collection
(random repetitions do not count in the learning process). The following
tests can be found on the random test submenu: All (Alt+F11,
all elements), Pending, Memorized, Dismissed, Topics, Items, Filter (use
element filter and run a random test on filtered subset), Leeches (random
test on difficult elements), Subset, Node (random
test on the currently selected branch in the contents
window)
- Random review - randomly review elements in
the current collection
- Options - open a
tabbed dialog box with options such as default interface font, default forgetting index,
path to files on CD-ROM, translation language, etc.
