Step 1

1. Run TO_SORT.EXE, used to convert Q&A text files (extension TXT) to sortable files (extension STB)
2. Provide the path to a Q&A text file, e.g. aegram.txt
3. Press Enter
4. Close the utility

Step 2

1. Run SM_SORT.EXE, used to sort STB files with respect to ordinal numbers established by: (1) the TO_TEXT.EXE utility, or (2) manually by the developer of the database
2. Provide the path to the STB file created earlier with TO_SORT.EXE, e.g. aegram.stb
3. Press Enter
4. Close the utility

Step 3

1. Run TO_SM.EXE, used to convert sorted SRT files to the SuperMemo format (extension ITM)
2. Provide the path to the file created earlier with SM_SORT.EXE, e.g. aegram.srt
3. Press Enter
4. Close the utility

Step 4

1. Run SuperMemo 6 for DOS
2. Select Open from the main menu
3. Choose the file created earlier with TO_SM.EXE, e.g. aegram.inf
4. Select Learn from the main menu to start learning

1. Run SuperMemo 7 for Windows
2. Create a new database by selecting File : New from the main menu
3. Select Tools : Import text from the main menu
4. Provide the path to a Q&A text file by means of the Browse button to the right of the Source textbox, e.g. aegram.txt
5. Press OK
6. Select Learn : Learn all from the main menu to start learning

1. Run SuperMemo 8 for Windows
2. Create a new knowledge system by selecting File : New from the main menu
3. Select File : Import : Q-A text... from the main menu
4. In the Importing Q&A text dialog box, press OK
5. Press Yes to "Do you want to create a classic SuperMemo import template?"
6. Provide the path to the Q&A text file, e.g. aegram.txt
7. Press the Learn button in the element window to start learning

1. Put a downloaded file in the SuperMemo folder (c:\sm98 by default)
2. Run the downloaded file (e.g. click Start : Run and provide the path to the file such as c:\sm98\Medical Biology Mix.exe). This will create Medical Biology Mix files in the Systems folder (e.g. c:\sm98\systems\Anatomy.kno, etc.)
3. Run SuperMemo 98 for Windows (e.g. by double clicking its icon created earlier)
4. Select File : Open from the main menu
5. In the Open a collection dialog box, choose the kno file, e.g. Anatomy.kno
6. Press the Learn button in the element window to start learning

7. Press Yes to "If you have not backed up quit now! Do you want to continue?"
8. Press OK
9. Check all available options in the Recovery Options dialog box and press OK
10. Press the Learn button in the element window to start learning

1. Drag and drop a Q&A text file onto the SMCONV.EXE utility, e.g. aegram.txt
2. Double click the resulting PDB file to install it on your handheld
3. HotSync your handheld device

1. Run SuperMemo for Windows CE
2. Select File : Import-Export : Import Q&A from the main menu
3. Provide the path to a Q&A text file, e.g. aegram.txt
