Mouse tab in Tools
: Options makes it possible to define the behavior of
the program in response to mouse actions

These are the options of this dialog box:
- Translation - how translation of text components with the mouse is accomplished
- On mouse move - translations appear when
the mouse moves over a given text component
- On middle button click - translations
appear when a given text component is clicked with the middle mouse button
- On Shift+click - translations appear in a
dedicated dialog box upon shift-clicking text components (this option makes it also
possible to edit original texts along with their translations)
- Phonetic transcription - how phonetic
transcription of text components is accomplished by using the mouse
- On mouse move - transcriptions appear when
the mouse moves over a given text component
- On middle button click - transcriptions
appear when a given text component is clicked with the middle mouse button
- On Shift+click - transcriptions appear upon
shift-clicking text components
- Edit texts - how texts can be edited
- On Alt+click - clicking components with Alt
pressed will make them enter the editing mode. This option has no effect on HTML
or OLE components in the presentation mode (both have an independent mouse
processing). HTML
components in the presentation mode behave like a typical internet browser and do not
react to Alt+click. OLE components in the presentation mode
react to clicks in a way that is defined by the associated OLE server
(e.g. in you link an Excel spreadsheet, Excel menu will open with the
right-click)
- On click - clicking components is enough to
edit texts (this is a default setting). You can turn it off if you do not want your
students to modify texts while learning
- Drag components - how components can be
dragged
- On Ctrl+drag (to ClipBox) - components can
be dragged to Component ClipBox with Ctrl pressed
- On Alt+dblclick - components can be dragged
with Alt+arrows upon clicking them twice with Alt pressed. This option
has no effect on HTML components in the presentation mode and on OLE components in the
editing mode. Both have an independent mouse processing in the respective modes. HTML
components in the presentation mode behave like a typical internet browser while the
behavior of OLE components in the editing mode is defined by the underlying server (i.e.
they behave like MS Word for Word documents, like MS Excel for Excel spreadsheets, etc.)
- Activate edited components on mouse move -
if this box is checked, components in editing or dragging modes become active as soon as
the mouse moves over their surface (this is the default behavior). Turn this check-box off
if the auto-activation is inconvenient to you
